What a wonderful summer! Augur Lake was the perfect respite from the heat and humidity that plagued much of the country. Campers from Whippoorwill and Lincoln climbed mountains, paddled rivers, camped under the stars, made new friends, sang lots of songs, carried on old traditions and created a few new ones. The Workgroups built a beautiful cabin at Whippoorwill and helped a local farm on a regular basis. Children at both camps learned new skills and communed with nature, away from the distractions of the 21st century. Everyone lived together, forging bonds and discovering new things about themselves and one another.

Many of these campers would not have been able to experience the magic of camp without your generosity. Thanks to the Chief’s Fund, over thirty children attended Lincoln and Whip, many of them returning campers. This year we received an extraordinary number of applications for camperships, demonstrating the serious need for funding.
